ah, ISSA… I got my start with them. Great company!
They teach you about 10% of what there is to know. In other words, they get your foot in the door, so dont think its over with your ISSA cert. If you want to be really great, keep studying. Today I’m a doctor of exercise science.

Stability balls are …
Stability balls are not great for anything. All the stabilizers involved in any exercise get plenty of work simply doing that exercise. Heavy squats already do plenty to force adaptive changes in the stabilizers. A balance-ball prevents full engagement of the prime movers, and yet doesn’t provide any additional development of the stabilizers.

You shouldn’t do …
You shouldn’t do upper body that many times a week. You wont overtrain right away, but accumulative overtraining happens rather quickly. Yes, its true that squats and deadlifts can stimulate growth of the entire body (thats why they’re called the king of exercises, so long as you do them right and DONT overtrain). 5 kgs in 3 months isn’t great, but it isn’t bad either.

why would you ever …
why would you ever use a smith machine, or any of that other stuff? Squats and deadlifts have been proven superior in nearly every study ever conducted. And stiff leg deadlifts? You actually RECOMMEND people do this??

Stiff legged …
Stiff legged deadlifts are great fror hamstrings! Back sqaut and regular deadlift doesn’t really seem to hit that area for me, and the hamstring is used greatly in running!
KaseyAkira Says:

If you wanted …
If you wanted hamstrings better suited for running, then you’d be better off training them by running. Squats and deadlifts, when monitored with an ECG, activate the hamstrings just as much as stiff legged deadlifts only the movement is considered more functional.
There simply is no reason to do stiff legged deadlifts over regular leg work. There are exceptions, but those are extremely rare.

The Smith Machine …
The Smith Machine can have a shearing effect as your body cannot distribute the weight around your surrounding muscles! Still it has its uses for me where I can do calve raises and not worry about stability with a barbell!

The best exercise …
The best exercise by far for whole leg development is single lef calf raises. I cant get enough of them. My legs have gotten atleast 30% bigger. This is the king of all exercises. Ive read alot of magazines. And also sent away to get my personal trainer certificate.
